The iPhone 4 may be scarcer here in Canada when it's released than previously estimated. With the iPhone expected to be released here in July, there's two factors working against there being enough inventory:

- a shortage of the iPhone 4's 'retina display' made by LG Display
- the fact that iPhone 4 will be sold unlocked in Canada.

While the first point will eventually be addressed by LG Display ramping up more capacity, the second point is going to remain with us as long as AT&T in the U.S. has a monopoly on iPhone sales. I foresee a large number of Americans buying up iPhone 4 inventory from the Canadian market for resale in the States.

Time will tell.
